- S: There are some interactions from the main character that feel a bit out of place. In particular, the restaurant scene where he spills his guts seems unlikely given his extremely reserved nature.
Also, the events to follow that are very strange, with him just leaving the restaurant alone. Culkin's character is so concerned with everyone else's well-being that it seems odd that the
restaurant conversation is never brought up and he doesn't go to check on his cousin.
- C: There are some great shots of the tourist sites, the monuments, and a particularly good shots with a neon sign on a rooftop, but it felt like it was missing that punch to take it to the next level.
You can see the difference between a movie like this and a movie like Zone of Interest, where the shot choices, music choices, and sound design take the film to the next level.
- E: Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin manage to keep it interesting, but also some great acting from the supporting cast, particularly Jennifer Grey, Will Sharpe, and Kurt Egyiawan. Lulls a little bit at
the grandmother's house and afterwards.
- N: Story is good, but I think it ends a bit too simply and abruptly.
- T: The film received one bonus point for a great scene on a rooftop with a bright red neon sign.
Pretty good watch. The setup is a bit strange, but the character design is very good and dialogue is well written.
