- S: Although the story is wild, the film does a great job of remaining sensible in context. Small issue with the main character's willingness to befriend a murderer near the beginning after
avoiding another, but otherwise reasonable.
- C: Excellently shot, barring one interjection of the serene outside view of a building where a violent fight is taking place near the end of the film. The juxtaposition made the climactic violence
almost comical.
- E: Only a slight lull during a period where the couple separates, but otherwise great energy purported mostly by a great story and great acting.
- N: Brilliant romance with a dark twist. Only issue is that the period where the couple separates feels either too long or too short to make it worthwhile.
- T: The film received two bonus points: one for a great shot in a moonlit field and a blood-soaked car rife and one for Taylor Russel's performance which I feel was just right.
This is another great film from Luca Guadagnino. Classic romance with a modern, dark overlay that is conceptually intruiging and thought-provoking.
