- S: There is a moment with a bloody head that feels odd and a moment on the moon regarding a helmet that feels strange.
- C: This film is incredibly well shot. The shot choice from the pilots' perspectives are incredible. The shaking of the camera adds tremendously to the feeling of the launches and flights.
The moon landing scenes are both beautiful and ominous. There are so many memorable shots from the film.
- E: Nail-biting action with gut-wrenching drama all topped with an incredible score/sound track and great acting? Top tier.
- N: It's a story we all know, told from a perspective most probably don't. It's very hard to make the life and emotional burdens of someone as interesting and complicated as Neil Armstrong and the
Armstrong family make sense.
- T: The film received four bonus points: one for the incredible Gemini VIII launch scene, one for the scenes on the lunar surface, one for the delicate end-scene in quarantine which is just perfectly captured by Ryan Gosling
and Claire Foy, and one for a great score/soundtrack which enhances so much of the film.
This is a very underrated film in my opinion. Certainly deserved more recognition around awards season than it got. Not sure why this one didn't have the same buzz as Damien Chazelle's other films, but it
is one of my favorites.
