- S: The story as a whole is quite far-fetched, but this mostly comes down to bad writing. There are a couple of items, like a napkin with numbers and a
moment in a restaurant that stretch a bit from even the very fantastical reality the story takes place in.
- C: Nothing particularly special, but also no mistakes.
- E: Some moments are so corny and implausible that they distract from the film, but on the whole not terrible.
- N: Outrageously far-fetched. Every major character in the film are ridiculous. The primary love interest is made to seem like an ideal match, but so much so that
it is a hilarious farce. The story also glorifies the loner-type male, who in this movie, is flawless. The purpose of the story was to navigate through
the difficulties involved with abusive relationships, but it does so by placing the characters in fantastically far-fetched relationships that minimize the severity of the issues being discussed.
- T: The film received one bonus point for the nuanced telling and re-telling of a few moments between the main character and her partner, particularly involving the use of hands.
It's a shame this movie tried to discuss the dark realities of relationships but wrapped it in a shiny gold wrapper of horseshit. The previously homeless, ex-marine, loner
turns into the knight in shining armor? I'm sure he doesn't have any issues at all. The farcical nature of the romance detracts from the very important message the film was trying to get across.
