- S: The ending feels a bit odd. The lack of timeline near the end makes the release feel very sudden. Similarly, it feels odd that Maclin's character would pick him up after this unknown
stretch of time.
- C: The shot choice feels a bit repetitive, and there is far too much use of film grain effects. However, the sequence with the real Sing Sing actors' footage was excellent.
- E: Great story, excellent acting by the cast all around, and great pacing make it hard to look away.
- N: The story is touching, but its a bit predictable (in a bad way). There are some scenes that feel forced to progress the plot, like a certain actor's curious death, and some shots
regarding extranneous innmates that have nearly no consequence on the film.
- T: The film received three bonus points: one point for the casting of real cast, one point for Sean Dino Johnson's touching monologue about how he shed the gang attitude in the theater, and one point for Clarence Maclin's outrageously good
performance in the supporting role.
Great story with great acting from the entire cast. A couple of off-hits, but this film should definitely pick up a few wins on the awards circuit.
