- S: On top of a tremendous amount of technological marvels sprinkled throughout the film, the film is bombarded with constant irregularities with information security, reckless choices of the villains,
and a far-fetched ending that all bring the film tantamount to nonsense.
- C: Nothing notably good. Shots feel very derivative of either spy thrillers, but without anything new. There are some shots that are framed deliberately awkwardly, but they don't really work.
There are some notable shots where Malek is put on the periphery, but they feel unfocused and he's not placed properly to make the shot interesting. Costuming, set design, and graphics feel run-of-the-mill.
- E: The film has very little interesting visually, is quite slow, and harps on a few events repeatedly. The constant interruptions requiring further suspension of disbelief don't help. Worse yet,
the film is fairly predictable. Not a great feature for a spy-thriller.
- N: The husband and wife's relationship at the beginning is way too picturesque, the strange sprinkling of interactions between CIA officials while Charles Heller is out on his journey feel
like unnecessary distractions, and the sequence of events with a helpful foreigner are non-sensical and uninspired. Worst of all is the ending; it's corny, too convenient, and unoriginal. Top this off with
an absolutely ridiculous interaction with the primary villain and an unnecessary, miraculous survival of an unimportant character, you're in for an amateur story.
- T: The film received no bonus points.
Shockingly bad. The trailers tell everything there is to know, and there's no reward for watching 'till the end. After watching, I tried very hard to think of any one
particularly good element of the film and came up short.
