- S: The film has some serious plot holes: the logistics of how the Costello shooting plays out, the presence of an old envelope, and the bail-out on a triple homicide involving some cops.
- C: The shootings and blood-work are excellent. Costuming is also good, as it helps distinguish the two groups of parallel people. However, there is a very odd shot near the beginning involving
a frame-fill from a small circle and some poor fast edits and jittery camera movements, particularly for the final shot.
- E: Great acting, pacing, and great characters make this an unforgettable watch.
- N: The story is an excellent concept following two people starting in the same place taking very different routes. However, the female love interest presents some narrative weaknesses and
distractions and a murder at the very end of the film feels unnecessary.
- T: The film received one bonus point for Jack Nicholson's performance. I felt he gave the mafia boss role something I haven't seen before: a craziness and recklessness symptomatic of the character's
growing disinterest with everything.
Great casual watch with some issues that prevent it from excellence.
