- S: Michael's marriages are hard pills to swallow.
- C: The film has so much good, but also has some bad. A poorly timed zoom on an Italian hilltop and some very badly choreographed fighting from James Caan,
and over-acting of the death of Sonny and a few other characters are over-acted are glaring mistakes in the film.
- E: The film lulls during Michael's time in Italy and right after Michael's year returned to the states, but the ending makes up for it.
- N: The two marriages for Michael are a serious weakness in the story. The marriage in Italy is a distraction that has no futher bearing on the rest of the film
and the second marriage is non-sensical given the circumstances. Also, the time skips later in the film get a bit hard to follow other than the characters' telling you time has passed.
- T: The film received all five possible bonus points for so many incredible scenes: the scene in the morgue is an example of what I think is perfect acting from Marlon Brando, the where Michael Corleone is in the bathroom finding the gun, the death of Don Corleone is like an oil painting,
the murder of Michael's brother in-law with the broken windshield, the ending where Michael shows anger at his wife for the first time in the film, and the very end where the couple is split between two rooms.
There is a reason why this film is widely considered one of, if not the best ever made. It's ridiculous to think it is perfect, as there are clear issues, but these issues are
so easily ignored by the brilliance of so much of this film.
