- Sensibility: Much of the confusing moments during the beginning and middle are explained by plot reveals later in the film. However, a bit of wanton violence and an investigation near the end are so unrealistic that they're groan-worthy.
- Cinematography: This film is the visual equivalent of a McMansion. Everything is white and earth tones and everything blends.
- Energy: The film feels the need to over-explain large portions of a plot-twist near the end and drags its heels getting to an ending that is a tremendous disappointment.
- Narrative: The big twists feel the need to over-explain the background that made them possible, making the shock wear off in the drudgery of recap. The ending is such an unrealistic and corny mess that any chance of redeeming the film is completely lost.
- T-Points: The film received one bonus point for Amanda Seyfried's performance. It is nice to see an actress with real talent run circles around the amateurs.
I went to see this movie given all the fuss online and the wild box-office numbers, and left disappointed with what kinds of films make the big bucks. It never ceases to amaze and disappoint me
what slop that gets the average person into the theater.
