- Sensibility: Some interactions between strangers, particularly dancing, are maybe a bit odd, but the whole movie has a non-literal vibe which helps make these issues pass by easier.
- Cinematography: The visuals are probably the weakest part of the film. Lighting is rather bland, the only interesting shot making is done connecting the different parts and time frames of the story, and production design is rather blase outside of the grandfather's study.
- Energy: Very fun watch with a lot of food for thought. Only issue is a few dance sequences just drag on a touch too long
- Narrative: Great story with a sanguine optimism that is rare. Only negative is Chuck's life is missing some pieces that feel as though they would be critical to a film portraying someone's life, even if fictional: particularly anything his wife and child. A film all about finding meaning in life relative to the context of death is missing some key parts of what most would call "life."
- T-Points: The film received one bonus point for a great bit about a growing, but absent, adult self telling a younger self to be quiet and patient.
One of those films that gives people a lot to think about with family, friends, life, death, and time. It has stayed with me for a few days after seeing it. Thanks Chuck!
