- Sensibility: Some parts of the nature of the affliction seem intermittent or inconsistent from case to case, but otherwise fairly sensible given how far-out the story is conceptually.
- Cinematography: Production design, costuming, and lighting are all excellent and give the film a very unique vibe. CGI is solid throughout other than a small, noticeable issue at the ending, and
the visual direction in this film as a whole is intruiging and well-planned.
- Energy: Gripping, horrifying, and romantic. Like the companionship in the film, the movie grabs on and can't let go. Only weakness is an ending that feels a bit slap-stick compared with the
gore and realism of the rest of the film.
- Narrative: The story is a great blend of love, spirituality, and gore that is rarely hit with such finesse. Only weakness is that a reveal around a previous union at a church feels unnecessary and a bit detrimental to the spirituality of the film.
- T-Points: The film received five bonus points: one for a brutal first dream sequence, one for expertly written dialogue from two people who have obviously known each other a long time, one for a cave breathing, one for a brutal hair eating scene where eyes dilate in the light, and one for the sawing of limb.
A rare blockbuster horror film where all the pieces come together with great finesse. Great story, great visual direction, great writing, and excellent execution create something unforgettable.
