- S: The movie, obviously, is borderline nonsense, but that's most of it's charm. It's so insane, it's actually good.
- C: There are some obvious framing mistakes and some very peculiarly long landscape/skyline sequences, but beyond this the shot choices and the idiosyncracies of the film are quite enjoyable.
The props and sets are surprisingly good and consistent throughout.
- E: As crazy as this movie is, it's hard to look away. It lulls a bit at the end, where I think it hangs on crazy Cage for a bit too long, but otherwise it's a fun and constantly moving film.
- N: The concept of the film is actually quite brilliant. A man deludes himself into believing he is a vampire after a series of mystifying events and a clear psychotic break. The blend of real/imagination
and suggested schizophrenia add a layer of complexity that makes the film interesting even on rewatch and in reflection.
- T: The film received one bonus point for the over-the-top insanity of Nicholas Cage's performance which brings this movie into a league of its own (for better or for worse).
This movie is like American Psycho meets Sharknado. It's so odd, and yet so interesting, that it seems obvious that it would become a cult classic. Great Halloween watch.
