- Sensibility: Avoiding police detection, a false imprisonment, a very long wait for revenge, miraculous gsw survival, and well-attended revolution all make for challenging suspension of disbelief.
- Cinematography: Costuming and production design are solid even if they feel at odds with the story in certain moments. Camera work is solid, even if a bit derivative. The highlight of the film visually, however, is the action sequences.
- Energy: The visual style and political spirit of the film help keep things moving even through parts of the story that are unnecessary.
- Narrative: An odd-ball, but inspiring story. The political narratives and the background for V almost seem at odds at points, as the vengeful nature of his character for his past transgressors doesn't fit with the political revolutionary he is trying to embody. The style and visual choices of the film are also almost entirely separate from the actual narrative. A side-story about a deceased prisoner and a pandemic also add little other than run-time to the film.
- T-Points: The film received two bonus points: one for a great shot of Evey's hair being cut and one for a wild, gory knife fight sequence between V and Creedy's men.
One of those movies that is so unique that it's unforgettable and worth coming back to even though it has issues. Its idiosyncracies almost make it feel like a better film than it really is.
