- S: Only one scene between an agent and her supervisor feels a bit overly-cinematic to fit into the reality. A couple of scenes feel scripted to reach a point, but in general, this movie does a
great job of making a job which is really a lot of desk work and research into an incredibly fascinating and brutal reflection of a reality swept under the rug.
- C: The operation sequence is very excellent. Also very much liked the fact that they did not show Bin Laden's face.
- E: Hard to watch, but you can't look away. Excellent pacing and brilliant story telling.
- N: It's a very important story and one with a lot of nuance. The story does a great job at telling it how it was, not over-praising the American effort and not undermining it either. Particularly enjoyed
how the impact on the children and wives was shown during the operation.
- T: The film received two bonus points: one for the sensitivity of the story around the murder and impact on the children in the house and one for the repetition and monotony of the investigation to find Bin Laden
which was realistic and told well enough to keep the film ridiculously engaging.
This is a film that I come back to every now and then because it has so much good in it. The sacrifice of Jessica Chastain's character Maya is brutal and unforgiving, and the story
doesn't let you forget that.
